Fullersburg Woods Nature Education Center

Fullersburg Woods Nature Education Center introduces visitors to the ecosystem surrounding them, including the indigenous flora and fauna native to the region. Learn about the native flora and fauna around Salt Creek and get acquainted with the signs they leave behind.
You will get the opportunity to get up and personal with the bones of a woolly mammoth that is 13,000 years old, and you will also have the chance to use microscopes and spotting scopes to explore animals that now call DuPage County home. Get a knapsack designed for the outdoors and go off on foot to adventure in the great outdoors.
Fullersburg Woods Nature Education Center
In the scheduled events for individuals, families, and groups, participants can engage in activities such as tapping maple trees, identifying spring wildflowers, and tracking resident and migrant species. The emphasis of the program is on the use of natural resources.
Students entering kindergarten all the way up to fourth grade have the opportunity to engage in summer camps to obtain essential hands-on experience. Scouts also have the chance to earn badges while having fun in the great outdoors.
The Discover It at Fullersburg program allows participants to organize customized field trips for their groups.

The historic Graue Mill and Museum is in the Fullersburg Woods Forest Preserve, located to the town’s southeast. The waterwheel gristmill at this location is the only one of its kind in Illinois that is still in operation.
Mill programs on milling and spinning. And weaving depicts life between 1850 and 1890. The effect mills had on the culture of the area in which they were located. These activities occur at the mill. List on the National Register of Historic Properties and serves as the venue for these events.

The Fullersburg Woods Nature Education Center is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday. On Sundays and some holidays, it is not available for business. Visitors can explore the neighbouring Fullersburg Woods Forest Preserve from dawn to one hour after sunset.
General Info
In the nature education facility, four-legged friends are not welcome. They can accompany their owners into the neighbouring forest preserve, but the leashes can be ten feet long. Alcohol is not allow to consume. Please familiarise yourself with our full set of rules and regulations.
